Today Patra isn’t just the city of carnival and student parties; it’s the capital of scandals and “red” screams! From the mayor who’s revolutionary workout with bank billboards to savage teen beatings and dramatic arrests, our city is boiling like coffee in a briki. Grab your popcorn, because this week’s gossip is scorching!

Peletidis vs Banks: “Cheap tough guy” or 2025 revolutionary?

If you thought political scandals end with elections, think again! Mayor Kostas Peletidis, the “communist from Kozani” as his critics call him, set social media on fire with his latest move: he ripped down bank advertising signs from freshly renovated schools in Patra! Why? Because, he says, “they’ve been sitting on our necks” and sponsorships from banks are not allowed. Except… those schools were renovated thanks to the “Maria Giannakou” program, funded exactly by those banks!

The city exploded: “Populism beyond limits,” shouted journalist Petros Troupiotis, accusing Peletidis of hypocrisy – “he let the works happen and then played the hero.” Others, like user PANOS.P., called him a “cunning hypocrite” who took the money and then spat on it. And let’s not forget: during the carnival, sponsorships from big corporations flow like water – but there, apparently, they’re “allowed”! Gossip mode on: Is this a pre-election stunt for 2026? Or is the mayor just bored and looking for TikTok content?

Teens in “savage beating”: Georgiou Square turns into a boxing ring!

If politics bores you, get ready for teenage drama. In central Georgiou Square, a 16-year-old ended up in hospital with a head hemorrhage after a brutal beating by a 17-year-old peer! The kid was rushed to hospital, while police are hunting the attacker – rumor has it he’s one of those “tough guys” from the neighborhoods who think Patra is a set of Power!

It’s not the first incident: Just days ago, a father reported his 13-year-old son being attacked with a stiletto knife – threats and fear in a city that supposedly “loves” its children. And then, as if that wasn’t enough, a 35-year-old was arrested for domestic violence after trying to grab a cop’s gun! Patra, what’s going on? Parents are whispering in cafés: “The kids are out of control – blame social media or blame the parents?”

Arrests straight out of an action movie

Speaking of police, don’t miss the dramatic arrest of a 45-year-old who attacked officers to avoid handcuffs – a scene straight out of Hollywood! And just when you thought it couldn’t get worse, the electricity company cut power to an elderly man on a ventilator while Peletidis “fights” banks. The city groans: “Where is justice?”

The “Disgusting” Patra and racist shadows

A foreign voice on X (formerly Twitter) said it all: “Patra is disgusting, full of garbage and racist graffiti, with a mayor obsessed with Israel instead of cleaning the city.” Harsh words, accompanied by photos of “Free Palestine” graffiti next to… trash piles. Gossip twist: Is Peletidis painting the graffiti with… bank sponsorships?

Bonus: What the stars say about Patra

To lighten the mood: Astrologer Litsa Patera predicts for 2025 “radical changes” – Uranus in Gemini from July, Saturn in Aries from May. For Virgos (total Patra vibes): “You’ll come out of your shell – but watch out for banks!” Haha, it fits perfectly!

That’s all for today, friends!
